My Passion~ Designing Homes

I have not gone away...I am playing catch up...I will be back to normal publishing as soon as I can...:) Until then enjoy some of my favorite posts...Like this one...

I love my job...I'm a lucky girl, I know...These pictures are of my first model home that I ever designed...It was so much fun...And it was a dream come true for me...I still do "drive bys" to see how she's doing....Still, as beautiful as the day I met her...That sassy, fun~loving hill country charmer holds the key not only to my heart... but to a brightly decorated future...Thank you, girly ;)

Meme thanks for the comment. I guess we have something in common. I decorate cakes, you decorate houses :) I am adding a blog as we speak and also pictures of some of cakes. I'm depending on Ms Susie to help get my page organized. I'll be checking in on your page since I can't figure how to link up with you...if thats possible???

Hi Meme,
Thanks for visiting my blog. I love your work! Beautiful! What a dream job. I would have a hard time giving up the keys also.

You asked about the sizing of the letters on my website. They can be as high as 22 inches. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Tonya

Me again,
You know, you can put the lettering up in model homes as well. It is such a hot thing right now. How fun would that be??

Tonya

That's a great way to put it: studying design your whole life but no degree to show for it. I feel like that too, and know where I get it when my mom and sister and I walk around a neighborhood and talk about all the houses and what we would do differently. I guess we all just have an inborn love of design! Your model home is gorgeous, and I love the black accents. Well done!

I always wondered who decorated those homes and now I know. That house is stunning! I love hearing your story about just doing what you love and not worrying about the degree. Personally, I think degrees are overrated in a lot of cases. If you're really great at something doors will open with or without a degree, unless of course you want to be a brain surgeon or something along those lines.

I love what you did there, I have never seen kitchen containers with different items in them like that, that is really pretty! I would love to have a job like yours, too! I would probably work for FREE or maybe some gift cards to Home Goods, haha.

You do awesome work.

I've designed all 3 homes we have built. Down to where each plug-in and light switch will be placed.

Tiring, exhausting? yup! Worth it? Even more than!

I see you're in TX. If you want, you're welcome to come over and design away! My house needs it. LOL

What a gorgeous home you designed. I like to decorate but I'm having trouble buckling down to get a more formal education in design. I have a BA in art from many moons ago. I just don't feel like doing the technical stuff...measuring and math, etc. I think I'm going back to the artsy stuff instead.

I don't know if I'd ever feel like turning a house I'd made so beautiful to someone else! You did a fabulous job!

I heart your job. What a dream that must be. You did a wonderful job. I would eventually love to do that myself. For now I have to raise my babies first.
