I am still alive over in Screaming Meme Land...:) I have been busy with slipcovers, a surprise visit from my sister and her baby, Maddox and a little bug that seemed to have me down for 4 days...I am feeling better! Thank you for the well wishes...I think they helped ;)...
Miss Jackie's settee was quite the handful or vice versa ;)...She was unruly to say the least...So much so that I had to name her...;) I named her, Abigail Van Bitchin'...yes, I said it...lol My Momma had a persian cat named that...Quite regal and beautiful, but she was a handful...just like my slipcovered settee...lol
Yes, I learned a lot of tricks from Abigail Van Bitchin'...and sewn a few fingers together in the process...actually through one of my nail beds and the side of one of my fingers...Just call me Meme Van Bitchin'...because I was...:) I cried a few times and laughed ALOT...
I had thought that the arms would be a snap and that I would have her all done in no time flat...lol Well, it took me a lot longer than I thought...BUT it was because I started the arms over and fiddled with her more than I should of...I am so bad like that...I want my work to be the best "I" can do...if I believe it can be better...I will not stop until I either think it is the best I can do or the paddy wagon came to get me...lol
So, I hope Abigail is loved as much as I have grown to love her...We will always have something special between us...:) She will be loaded up in my eldest son's pickup truck tomorrow to go to her new home! I have two of her sisters, the channel back chairs I am "fiddling" with...:) I will post pictures asap for you all to see...
More news, I think I will be designing another model home ...I will keep you posted...fingers crossed! Yay!!!

Beautiful! I love it! What is the fabric? Love the color and it looks comfy.
Hi Meme,
Oh how I feel your pain....I feel the exact same way each time I finish a slipcover!! Oh by the way...she looks so fabulous! You did a scrumptious job on Abigail! I didn't realize you were doing it for someone else! Just curious what do you charge? I've had people ask me to make them & I've always been unsure of what to charge since it takes a million years!! ;)
Great job on the model home job too!
xo,
Shellagh

Regards from Agneta
in my wildest imagination, i can not
fathom how you do that.
it is simply gorgeous.
amazing...and with piping!
Wonderful ...bet it is hard to part with after al lthat work : )
It's stunning! I hear ya about fiddling about it too much. I just did the same, but isn't it a joy to look at the finished product?
Wow - love it! I just attempted my first slipcover (you can see it on my blog), and I, too, had trouble with the arms. The chair is 3/4 done, but I have to fiddle with a few problem areas. I do love the fabric you used...what is it? Linda
Oh wow, it looks great! Wish I could sew too.
Good grief.
You did an amazing job.
I can sew but I wouldn't know where to start.
I enjoyed visiting-
I am a follower so I will be back.
Drop by if you can,

White Spray Paint
she looks like she was worth the troubles and pain! crossed fingers on the model home!
I am SO impressed with your sewing nunchuck skills.
When I lived in Warner Robins, GA there was a company called.....
Bitchin' Stitchin' embroidery.
It was run but a man of course. :)
Gorgeous as always! OH and I do know that feeling of laughing and crying and pulling out my hair while trying to figure things out on a slipcover! You really did an amazing job I am sure your client will absolutely love it. How fun to be able to decorate a model home....keep us posted.

Wow...you did an amazing job! The slipcover is to die for! I love the skirt so feminine and pretty...simply wonderful!

Enjoy!

OMGosh! I love her. She's perfect. I'm the same way when I sew. I'll make myself crazy trying to be perfect. I barely see flaws in other's work, but I can't even look at mine unless I've fixed every error.
I can't wait to see how the chairs turn out.
I'll tell you what though. Today I slipcovered an old worn out patio chair. I pretty much just slopped it together because it's for outside. It was so fun not obsessing over it! I finished it in one morning.
